Why ClearKarat exists

Handing over gold is a big moment, and the gold trade has a trust problem. Customers worry about the weight, the purity and charges that appear at the end. ClearKarat was built around one idea: do everything in plain sight, so that you never have to take anyone's word for it.

What we do

• We buy old gold. Jewellery, coins and broken pieces, weighed and tested in front of you.
• We release pledged gold. We buy it at the day's current market price, clear your loan with the lender and pay you the rest of the money.
• We help you decide. Our calculator and guides let you check everything yourself before you visit.

How we work

1. The scale faces you. The weight shows on a display you can read, before and after anything is done to your gold.
2. The test happens at your side. You see it, and we explain the result.
3. Every number is on paper. Weight, deductions, purity, rate, charges and the final figure each have a line on your slip.
4. The quote comes before the commitment. You hold the figure in writing before any melting or paperwork starts.
5. You can always say no. Nothing is bought, melted or kept until you agree.
